Tikka has just come out with a new rifle in .308 Win. It's their stainless bolt action and barrel in a laminated stock with iron sights and a Pic rail - all for a mere $2,099. MSRP. Knowing Tikka/Sako pricing they seldom permit much of a discount.
When you look at this rifle you immediately think 'Hey, looks like a Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle.' And you'd be right. Both rifles come in .308, both have laminated stocks, iron sights and a pic rail, the Ruger's rail in front of the receiver, Scout style, and the Tikka's on top of the receiver.
Big difference is that $900. price premium for the T3X Arctic!
Thank you very nice but I'll take the Ruger in stainless W/laminated stock.

2. Bartlein stainless 20', 5R barrel
3. Boyd's laminated stock & forearm
I haven't ordered the barrel yet (it still has the factory 21' barrel on it) because I'm trying to find a gunsmith who can properly thread the barrel (flat top threads) and machine the barrel with octagonal flats. Let me know if you have one who can do that expertly.
When finished my rifle will be a lever action in the Scout tradition.

Tikka T3 Sporter .223 Rem with Bushnell scope
The Tikka T3 is a series of bolt-action rifles manufactured by Sako under their Tikka brand in Riihimäki, Finland since 2003.[1] The series is available in a wide variety of different sight, calibre and stock configurations as well as several barrel lengths. The rifle series was developed by Sako product development team led by Kari Kuparinen.[1]
In 2016 the series received an overhaul and the improved models were named Tikka T3x.[2][3] All improved parts of the T3x are compatible with the older T3 models.[2][4]

French National GendarmerieRepublican Guard snipers using a Tikka T3 Tactical PN/GN.
- Canada: Licensed variant of the T3 CTR designated C19 manufactured by Colt Canada used by Canadian Rangers.[5] The Tikka T3x Arctic is a civilian version of the C-19.[6]
- France: T3 Tactical PN/GN used by French National Police and French National Gendarmerie. Chambered in 7.62×51mm.[7]
- India: T3 TAC used by the Indian NavyMARCOS (Marine Commandos). A total of 177 rifles, chambered in 7.62×51mm.[8]
